Prep & Aftercare
Waxing
Preparation:
- Prior to waxing ensure that the hairs are long enough to be completely removed by the root. To achieve this the hair needs to be at least 0.5cm long.
- If you have been shaving prior to waxing, it is important to note that it might take a couple of waxes to get your hair into a cycle of growth that allows for the most effective finish.
Aftercare:
- It is normal for the treated area to be a little red, sensitive and warm following waxing due to a histamine reaction. This should subside 3-6 hours following the treatment.
- Limit exercise for the first 36 hours after waxing, as sweat is a breeding ground for bacteria.
- Don’t expose yourself to heat or UV rays for at least 48 hours.
- Avoid using body lotion, moisturisers, fragrances, soap or deodorant on the area for the first 12 hours.
- Don’t use saunas, spas or public pools for 48 hours after waxing to avoid cross infection.
